INGLIS OAM Chairman,
IAEE executive committee John
Inglis OAM has been involved in all aspects of the lift industry for fifty
six years, his technical training was carried out at Sydney Technical
College. He has been a member of the Australian Elevator Association
Technical committee for over thirty years and during the same period has
been a member ot the Standards Australia ME/4 committee for Lifts. John
Inglis is chairman of several sub-committees for the lift standards and
also represents Australia on the ISO TC178 committee and WG-4 and WG-6.
Since 1986 he has been a member of IAEE and during recent years he has
been a member of the Executive Board of IAEE and regional co-ordinator for
the Pacific region, in October 1998 he was appointed Chairman of IAEE.
John Inglis has presented paper at all ELEVCON congresses since 1988 and
in recent years has concentrated on the evolution of aspects of the lift
industry. |

LUSTIG executive

Lustig joined ESL - Eng. S. Lustig Consulting Engineers Ltd. (Tel-Aviv,
Israel) in 1972. He is a certified elevator inspector and member of the
Israeli Standards Institution’s IS 1525/2 Buildings Maintenance
Committee. Over the years he has published a great number of papers and
edited several books. He is Chairman of the Intelligent Building
International Steering Committee (IB/IC) and since 1987, he has been
member of the Board of Executives (Steering Committee) of the IAEE. |

Joseph
STIER executive
committee secretary and chairman of administrative board
Initiated the idea of the IAEE in 1985, and since
then acted as the "De Facto" manager of the association and
officially as the secretary of the administrative board and secretary of
the executive committee. Assisted in organization of all IAEE events world
wide, managed all activities and sponsored the association activities
since its creation. Sponsored almost all books and publications if IAEE
and was active in recruiting members, officials and activate all parts of
the organization. |

SO Albert

committee member & Scientific advisor So
obtained BSc(Eng), MPhil and PhD from Department of Electrical &
Electronic Engineering, University of Hong Kong. He had been with the Hong
Kong Government as an Electrical & Mechanical Engineer before he
joined City University of Hong Kong in 1990. Now he is Associate Professor
with the Department of Building & Construction. Dr. So is a founder of
IAEE (HK-China Branch) and he is now General and Academic Secretary of the
Branch. Dr. So was elected into the Board of Executives of IAEE in
Barcelona in 1996 and he was appointed Scientific Advisor of Elevcons in
Zurich in 1998. He is a Chartered Engineer, U.K. and Registered
Professional Engineer, H.K., and corporate members of IEE, CIBSE and HKIE.
He is also Chairman of Control Electronics Technical Committee of IEEE
where he is a Senior Member. Dr. So is also active in the Building
Services Division of Hong Kong Institution of Engineers. |

He is graduated from the Division of
Industrial Engineering, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Istanbul
Technical University.
After graduation in
1982, he worked as the mechanical installations engineer in various
construction companies and in 1992, he joined Asray and thus, the
manufacturers side of the Lift Industry.
He is currently a
partner and the General Manager of ASRAY.
He is the President of AYSAD (Elevator
and Escalator Industrialists Association Turkey) and vice president of
ASTEK (Ministry of Industry and Trade, Elevator Technical Committee)
He is a member of :

George W. Gibson
Executive Committee Member
Following a successful 37 year technical and managerial
career with Otis Elevator Company, he retired in 1993 and formed George W.
Gibson & Associates, Inc., an elevator consulting firm. He is a Member
of the A17 Standards Committee in the US, and Chairman of several A17
Working Committees, including Mechanical Design, International Standards,
Emergency Elevator Stopping, Earthquake Safety, and Door Protection. He
has been the head of the US delegation to the ISO/TC178 on Elevators and
Escalators since
1981, and a member of IAEE since 1993. He has authored numerous
technical articles on various aspects of elevator technology, safety codes
and standards. |

Roger
Howkins
Executive Committee Member
Mr. Howkins Is
an Associate with Arup in London
with the VT team he has been in the lift and escalator industry all of
his professional working life and worked all over the world advising on
prestigious elevator projects. This has been targeted mainly around
panoramic elevators and the architectural design of the system as a
moving piece of engineering where good design is the driver behind the
engineering.
He has an
interest in the integrated design of lifts to be used for total building
evacuation as well the human aspects of elevator travel in terms of ride
comfort controls that need to be applied to achieve personal comfort.
He has been
a member of many code committees and is used as an acknowledged expert
in court within the UK and abroad and writes technical articles for
journals .
