Summary of Ele-España 2005, The Spanish Elevator Exhibition and the future event in 2007

The Second Spanish Elevator Exhibition took place in Barcelona as planned from 10 to 12 May 2005, at the La Farga Exhibition Centre. The number of exhibition stands was nearly 100 with more than 350 companies represented.

75% of the exhibitors were Spanish manufacturers and a relatively large number of foreign exhibitors was present. The largest number of foreign exhibitors came from Italy, but also German, French, Turkish and companies from other countries exhibited their products. 25% of visitors were foreigners from over 35 countries, with high participation of EU countries and South America.

The exhibition space of the second event was 50% larger than Ele-España 2003, covering 90% of the floor space. The organizers expect that the 3rd event will cover 100% of the available exhibition space at La Farga Centre.

On Friday, following the exhibition, Tecnolama Factory invited hundreds of guests for an “open house” in Reus (nearby Barcelona) with shuttle service from La Farga direct to the venue.

La Farga has been selected as the regular venue for the exhibition for several reasons: it offers a single hall venue with over 8000 sqm. The ceiling is very high with a modern design, which assists to design stands with active elevators. The centre has a good ambience and radiates a friendly business atmosphere. It is located in the centre of Hospitalet, and surrounded with shops, cafes, restaurants and has a nearby metro station. It is half-way between the Barcelona airport and downtown Barcelona with easy access from everywhere. Both exhibitors and visitors are not “captives” of food services provided by an exhibition centre located in a remote area.

The 3rd event of Ele-España is scheduled for 16-18 May 2007 in Barcelona. This event will be accompanied by a Spanish Lift Seminar organized by IAEE. As of September 2005 a floor-plan and space reservation options will be available on the website www.elevcon.com
