IAEE GENERAL ASSEMBLY MEETING MINUTES

22 May 2012, held at Deauville Resort Beach Miami

Discussions

Joseph Stier:- reported shortly about IAEE past activities, Membership, finance and issues the association has to face in the coming future.

 

Bob Nicholson:-Proposed a campaign in USA to get new members and also to write in newsletter stories all over the world about elevators.

 

Beat De Coi:-Talked about more imvolvement of IAEE to members.

 

Robert Caporale:-Suggest to enable membership to not only  for certified engineers.

Agrees that the Newsletter can include old papers.

 

Stephen H.S.Kuok:-Suggests to bring companies to China. A team should go to China and promote IAEE there.

Promote IAEE for small companies from USA and South America.

Chinese companies that wish to export lake the knowhow and we can help teaching them.

 

Albert So: -Proposed that the fee for IAEE membership should not be increased for Hong Kong ;IAEE to offer more credentials to members and that way the number of members will increase.

 

Ami Lustig: -Proposed that Elevcon should be promoted better.

 

Tak Mathews : - Suggest that IAEE will prepare a certification plan.

 

Michael Farinola : He proposed to increase membership fee to 200$ for the first year and members get also certified as elevator engineers,

IAEE should have video conferences on website with all members,at least 1 every 2 months; In the first newsletter we should define better who can apply for membership.

 

John Antona: Proposed to improve the website. The IAEE certificates should be DATE limited with 2 years expiration date.

 He will work with Bob Nicholson and get new members.

Membership fee

Agreed to change gradually membership fees, but without touching membership fee in China and India.

(from now members can pay using their credit card)

As it is a complex matter a certification committee was nominated with the following members.
