ELEVCON 2021 The 23rd International Congress on Vertical Transportation Technologies, Grandior Hotel, Prague, Czech Republic
Elevcon is postponed to 2021 due to the coronavirus situation
Dear Friends and Colleagues:
Re: ELEVCON 2020 congress is rescheduled to the year 2021 due to the coronavirus (COVID-19)
Unfortunately, due to the current coronavirus situation which is changing daily worldwide, we all face a new reality of restrictions on public gatherings, borders closing, home isolation and so on.
Putting the health and safety of all our members, colleagues and families at first priority while taking under consideration that, the situation today is not very clear, we have concluded that the right thing to do would be to announce the postponement of the ELEVCON congress to 2021.
Our heart, sympathy and support with everyone affected by the coronavirus, whether directly or indirectly and we do hope that this situation will be behind us soon.
I do hope that you will join us for ELEVCON 2021 in Prague.
I appreciate your understanding and cooperation and looking forward seeing you in ELEVCON 2021 in Prague.
IAEE President and Chairman of Elevcon 2021
IN MEMORIAM: ENG. SIMHA LUSTIG:
Simha Lustig, of Tel Aviv, Israel, passed away on 7 December 2019, aged 93. Simha and his wife Rita, both survivors of the Holocaust, immigrated to Israel in June 1950, following his graduation as an electrical engineer from the University of Bratislava in Slovakia. His professional career began immediately when he joined a local elevator company as a young engineer. In 1956 he established the first vertical transportation consultancy in Israel, ESL – Eng. S. Lustig Consulting Engineers. Under his professional leadership, ESL was, and still is, involved in most of the prestigious projects developed in Israel over the last 70 years and many others internationally. As the chairman of the Israeli elevator and escalator technical committee, he instigated the creation of all new Israeli standards as well as the adaptation of many European ones. Simha was a longtime representative of Israel in Working Group 6 of ISO Technical Committee 178 and contributed his knowledge and experience to the development of many new international standards and the revision of several others. He was the country coordinator for the International Association of Elevator Engineers (IAEE) since 1986 and an active member of many local technical associations and committees. He was always generous with his time and advice and will be most fondly remembered by his colleagues. Simha is survived by his children, Ami, Dubi, and Hagit, six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
