ELEVCON 2021 The 23rd International Congress on Vertical Transportation Technologies, June 15-17, 2021, Grandior Hotel, Prague, Czech Republic
Dear Friends and Colleagues,
I hope this letter finds you all well and safe.
As you know, in light of the Coronavirus situation and to ensure the safety of all participants we have decided to postpone the Elevcon Congress from June 2020 to June 2021.
I am delighted to invite you to Prague for Elevcon 2021, the 23rd International Congress on Vertical Transportation.
I believe that ELEVCON 2021 will be a great opportunity for all of us to meet once again, after so long, to network, exchange ideas and develop our industry.
The IAEE Scientific Committee plans an excellent program covering all major aspects of vertical transportation during 3 days, which I am sure will have a great impact on the innovative future of the vertical transportation industry.
Prague is the spectacular capital of the Czech Republic. The “City of a Hundred Spires” on the Vltava River is known to people from all over the world and ranks among the most beautiful cities in Europe.
Our upcoming congress will be held at the newly designed Grandior Hotel Prague, perfectly situated in the city center of Prague, from the 15th to 17th of June 2021.
On behalf of IAEE I would like to extend a warm welcome to our members and colleagues and to those who are relatively new to our industry. Your participation in Elevcon 2021 will introduce you to the top personalities in the vertical transportation industry and offer you the opportunity to meet colleagues from all around the world.
Looking forward to seeing you in Prague 2021.

IN MEMORIAM: ENG. SIMHA LUSTIG:
Simha Lustig, of Tel Aviv, Israel, passed away on 7 December 2019, aged 93. Simha and his wife Rita, both survivors of the Holocaust, immigrated to Israel in June 1950, following his graduation as an electrical engineer from the University of Bratislava in Slovakia. His professional career began immediately when he joined a local elevator company as a young engineer. In 1956 he established the first vertical transportation consultancy in Israel, ESL – Eng. S. Lustig Consulting Engineers. Under his professional leadership, ESL was, and still is, involved in most of the prestigious projects developed in Israel over the last 70 years and many others internationally. As the chairman of the Israeli elevator and escalator technical committee, he instigated the creation of all new Israeli standards as well as the adaptation of many European ones. Simha was a longtime representative of Israel in Working Group 6 of ISO Technical Committee 178 and contributed his knowledge and experience to the development of many new international standards and the revision of several others. He was the country coordinator for the International Association of Elevator Engineers (IAEE) since 1986 and an active member of many local technical associations and committees. He was always generous with his time and advice and will be most fondly remembered by his colleagues.
